TYPE: Diese Art wächst um Talea im Departement Oaxaca in Mexico. Im August 1842 sammelte sie Liebmann, nach dessen Exemplaren diese Darstellung verfertigt, Liebmann s.n. (holotype, W; drawing of type, K; illustration published in Xenia Orchid. 2: t. 158. 1870.).
